A Nice Letter Eagles and Deer?

Idaho Record Muzzleloader Mule Deer

December 23rd, 2005 David King - King's Outdoor World

There was a beautiful typical mule deer taken in Idaho during the late season muzzleloader hunt. KC Ramsey finally drew a quality mule deer tag and brought down this record buck. The deer should easily become the new Idaho state record muzzleloader typical mule deer and a potential number two or three in the world. Currently the world record muzzleloader buck for Longhunter is a buck taken out of Utah in 1994 and scores 205 4/8 net typical.

KC’s great buck has been unofficially green scored at 205 gross and 201 net typical. The buck is 34 1/2-inches wide but has a kicker coming off from the right side that is a little over three inches long. This will be the biggest deduction off the typical frame as the buck is very symetrical.

KC is waiting until the 60-day drying period (which comes January 7th) to see just where his great typical smokepole buck falls into the record books. I will keep you posted on the official score and ranking in a couple of weeks.

Ive seen this buck in person, its perfect. KC worked harder at hunting and scouting and really deserved this great once in a lifetime trophy. You should see the Elk this guys gets!!! Best hunter in Idaho!

Was this buck taken with a traditional Muzzleloader? If so my hat goes off for K.C. if it was taken with an inline I have no respect for the weopon used. I am presently working on an Idaho grand slam with a traditional 54 cal. muzzleloader. I’m also glad to see that Roy Myers has met every hunter in Idaho that qualifies him to make the statement posted on may 12, 2008.

I agree with the comment about having no respect for inline muzzleloaders. They are fine in any weopon hunts but not in muzzleloader units. I shoot a .58 cal. and it’s as fun as it gets.

I hunt the season that will most likely get me the best chance of bagging what I am after rather it be Primative Weapon, Muzzel load, Rifle or Archery. If this animal was taken in a leagal season with a legal weapon, then all is well. No need for the soap box speech here. KC has that honor…..

I think the insult came when Roy claimed KC was the greatest hunter in Idaho and it’s obvious Michael thinks he is..
