I agree with what doug says. If this is the bull that i think it is; the arizona game and fish has wrongfully acused someone for doing something that was not illegal. Every huge bull is investigated...there is nothing wrong with killing a huge bull.

My only comment is that the Utah DWR with have the problem of 400 point elk solved starting this year. The desire to reduce the average age of the mature bulls is just that......bull. The bottom line with DWR is and has always been $$$$$. We have a good thing in the state and they do their best to ruin it. They manage big game like the JAZZ play basketball!!!!! Those of us who can never seem to draw a tag will not only get a chance at low trophy potential.

Doug,
I agree with what you are saying. Every 400 point elk is put under tight scrutiny...whether it is warranted or not. That is unfortunate. However, the reason for this post is that this is a legit investigation that has already lead to some things and charges, but since it has not been closed I can't say anything about it. Hopefully I can get details and post them later. We deal with big heads all the time whether it is in our magazine or calendars. Making sure everything is always legit and legal is not always easy knowing you can put your company in jeopardy because of it. This elk had the potential to do that, but fortunately now it won't.

If it is under investigation why comment.. Its no surprise that every huge bull killed is followed by rumors of poaching.. I find it amazing that no raghorn is ever poached but all big bulls have something fishy involved....
