Video Clip of Yamaha Grizzly 700
June 29th, 2006 David King - King's Outdoor World
Here is a compiled video clip that I took while on the Yamaha Grizzly 700 FI ATV Introduction in Montana in June. This video is just captured from my digital camera, but it gives a very good look at the new Grizzly 700. I go through many of the new features and really show you just how it all comes together. Excuse the lame commentary, but I was basically videoing as I was seeing it for the first time as well.
For those of you looking to decide if the new Yamaha Grizzly 700 is right for you, this may help you out. You can catch my earlier “First Look” review here.
Look for a more detailed test ride review a little later in Hunting Illustrated Magazine after we get some more ride time on the new ATV.

what a great machine, this bike is awesome. I now have nearly 400miles on it.after owning a rincon 650, 680, rancher 400,350 I can honestly say that this is my favorite. I have had 3 surgeries in which I thought I would never again be able to ride without allot of pain. now thank’s to yamaha I can steer without allot of effort. also
power is sooooo smoth, ride is plush and handling is not too far from the rincon. (which is hard to beat) if you are looking for all these features. buy a grizzly 700. you’ll be glad you did.

We bought last week, a 07 griz 700 fi, a 07 can am 500, and a 07 polaris sportsman 500 x2. Mine is the Griz, Ive broke trail for the rest in 2+ feet of snow. The tires on all these dont do real good. The griz is a dream to ride. Snow limits us to get further than the 16 mi. round trip we can go on from our back yard. But the Griz out performs the rest. Its the smoothest ride, and manuvering it is a cake walk. I cant wait for summer to see what it is capable of!!

I love this bike,…it’s awsome,….only hang up is that the fuel boils in the tank,…anyone know how to fix this? My dealer doesn’t and they claim yamaha don’t have a cure for it yet either.
13. Dane | October 13th, 2007 at 7:50 am
In referance to the gas boiling. Yamaha has sent my Dealer a differant vent filter for the vent hose. The part # is from a street bike appication. As a temporary fix, I removed the exiting one and zip tied a cloth on the end of the hose to keep the dirt out. This hose is located next to the gas cap under the plastic. It still gets hot, but does’t boil.

I’ve got about 1500 miles on a 07 Grizzly. It has not been trouble free. I also had boiling gas problem. In fact my daughter and and I were soaked by boiling gas when I opened the fuel cap after it had quit. It is used primarly for farm use i.e. spraying and picking rocks. My dealer was reluctant to admit to the boiling gas problem but finally repaced the stock fuel cap with a older style. Seems to have solved the problem. I also have had problems with the reverse limiter switch engaging in lo and hi while riding. This is my first Yamaha and probably last. P.S.- the power steering is awesome.

I absolutely love my ‘07 Yamaha 700 Grizzly. I ride in Chadwick, MO and there are some treacherous paths through forests, hills & over boulders. My Griz always pulls me thru. I love this machine but I hate it too. I ride pretty hard but these machines should be built to handle it. First the gas boiling cant be good. Second major prob is once iv’e been riding for awhile my Griz’s electrical system thinks its in REVERSE, the R light actually comes on & off. When it does this it chokes it out. Here’s why its dangerous, I will be riding up a steep monster hill with mud, rocks & tree roots then bam, the Griz thinks its in R. It doesnt physically go in reverse but the reverse limiter kicks on & you dont have the speed to get up the hill. I talked to my dealer & they changed some type of washer in the unit but the next time I rode it happend again. They state yamaha has no Recall on it so i guess im screwed not to mention its dangerous to ride. Anyone have any suggestions??

I wonder if there is a way you can disengage the rev limiter permanetly. I hate it anyway. They say it is some type of safety feature.

To Sian with the 2007 Grizzly-I have had my 2007 Grizzly in several times for the reverse limiter engaging. Again my dealer said Yamaha does not report having any problems with this. The dealer has shimmed the switch and replaced it twice. The second time seems to have fixed the problem for the time being. Your right about this being dangerous. When it engages it just about throws you off. Between being soaked in boiling gas and almost being thrown off numerous times and Yamaha denying they have these problems-I’m not real impressed. Good luck.

The new vent worked, no more gas boiling. The Dealer installed it and covered it under warranty. It took 10 mins.

about this boiling and riverse limiter problem dose anyone know if ‘08 model have that same problem or not.
22. John | December 13th, 2007 at 9:11 am
I have a new 08 with about 120 miles on it. I have not seen the gas boil but, i have heard it venting after i shut the machine off. You can remove the gas cap and it will quit. As soon as you put the cap on agin, the venting noise will start again within a minute. There does seem to be alot of heat around the gas tank area. As far as the reverse limiter, i have not had that problem. I have enjoyed this so atv very much so far. Very comfortable to ride.

Im in the market for a new quad. yamaha sent me a dvd on the 700 grizzly and im pretty much convinced that its capable of doing what i want it to.whats up with the boiling gas has any bodys bike caught on fire because of this problem. i am also lookink at the polaris sportsman 500 EFI. it seems to be a good bike but i’ve heard of bad belt problems. also does anybody know how old you have to be in order to buy a atv. if any body could help me that would be great.

My 07 700 grizzly doesn’t want to start now that it is cold out. I can start it at the house, and it starts hard, but once I trailer it somewhere its done. So much for the fuel injection being better for cold starts. I’ve put heat in, seafoam and tried a hotter spark plug. This is not a very good option for ice fishing in Montana. With no pull start it is only a matter of time until I’m walking. Any suggestions?

Just bought an 08 Grizzly 700 and was woundering if anyone has had problems starting the fuel injected bike after swamping it underwater?
