Unique Trophy Archery Buck

30 Aug

Rick Pummell with his great Utah archery mule deer
The 2006 archery season is starting to be a good one. Here is one example. Rick Pummell from Big Foot Fly Shop in Vernal, Utah just bagged a very unique trophy mule deer with his University Tribute bow. Rick had been chasing this deer for three years. He is 32-inches wide, 6 1/2-inch bases and green scores 196 5/8 P&Y.

This picture really shows the mass and extra character around the bases

Not all mule deer are destined to be the perfect tyipical, believe it or not ! ! And to ” What took three years? ” I doubt youve ever taken a mule with a bow, mabey you should try it. But I would work on that attitude first. There just seems to be less and less room for idiots in the outdoors these days.

Hey nice buck!!! congrats . He just means he has watched , and seen this buck for 3 years . He might of just let him grow up more . I have watched a buck that will be a fourth year this year . UP on the extended hunt he is still alive ! He looks like the one you got but he doest have as much trash . He has no fronts like that buck . He has done alot of growning also . Is this the biggest year for the buck over the 3 years ?
    later

Hi Jim, Thanx for the words. Not unlike yourself, I do love the out of doors, and I believe in hunting as a management tool, that will preserve our natural heritage, for the next gen. It is a way of life. I am from the Brooks area, and also enjoy trips that take me away from home, though all my hunting is done in our province. I enjoy the BIG ADVENTURE part, as much as anything. I am familiar with that area you speak of, and have worked in that country in the past, though havent been fortunate enough to have spent any time enjoying the hunting season there. Though I do know, every year there are some really good whitetails that come from right in there. I hope you have fun. I have some great hunts planned as well. I have been counting the days all year ! ! Go hard, good luck in there, and have a safe season.
