New World Record Muzzleloader Typical Elk?

How many 400 class bull elk from Utah in 2006?….12, 13, 14, 15?

Well, how about we add to the mix a potential record muzzleloader bull. How big is this bull? It could be the new muzzleloader world record typical. It could be the muzzleloader state record typical. It could even be the overall Utah state record typical elk. This beautiful, clean 6×6 point bull has no major broken points and is very symmetrical. It has been green scored at 416 2/8 gross and 412 1/8 net typical B&C. This will shatter the current world record ( a New Mexico bull taken in 1998 and scores 397 5/8 net), cremate the muzzleloader state record (I think net scores in the 380s) and quite possibly could challenge the awesome bull Lloyd Jacobson took last year which scores 408 4/8 net typical.

Of course this is just an unofficial green score, but looks to be the top bull to come out of Utah in 2006 so far. Look for more on this bull in the coming weeks as I will be checking this great bull out in person shortly. And yes, you will be able to see all the great pics and full story in a future issue of Hunting Illustrated.

I would like the person who shot this amazing bull to call me. I have been watching a bull for two years in southern utah that would be worthy of this and i have some video of him. I would like to know what unit it is and if it is the bull i will send you the video. JH 435-862-3372

I kow that the Utah state Non Typical Muzzleloader record will be broke. A friend of mine killed a bull that will gross around 430 and net around 405. You will be seeing this bull at the expos this year.

No, it was not guided but the guy who told us about the bull is a guide. I have the hunt and kill shot on video.

The bull is a 9×8 and i gross unoffically scored him at 414 2/8 and 396 6/8 net but i didnt give him the proper measurement for his inside spread so i had to add an extra 9 inches so he should score around 423-430 gross and should net around 405. he also has 15 inches of broken tine!!! if intact this bull could be a 440 bull!!! im not sure what the highest gross scoring elk for Utah is but this could be the new record for gross.

maybe it’s speculation but I think I have this bull on video alive the very same day he was killed. I have pictures of the bull dead with me in them with the gut pile. I’m pretty sure I found the bull, took greg and john C. to the bull and called the bull in for greg to shoot at 120 yards. John has it all on video. I packed the bull out on my horses I have all the pictures to go along with this story to.

The Longhunter society. They have different entry requirements, but prescribe to the B&C measurement process.
