Elk Fishing?
October 11th, 2006 David King - King's Outdoor World
Is this one of the most incredible things you have ever seen. Don’t have much information to include on this just yet, but apparently these guys were Salmon fishing and hooked this trophy bull in the water. Not sure of the location.

I need a email address to send some pictures of a big bull elk that apperantly went over a cliff and had to be retrieved via some very hard work and lots of ropes and cable, We would like to know more about it?
Thanks

My guess is that this is a Fort Peck archery bull that made it into tho river after an archery hit, and yes, there are salmon - lots of em - in Fort Peck.

Looks like could be near Hanford WA, on the Columbia River. There are alot of Elk near their and plenty of fishing as well.

Yea i think that JD is right to the best of my knowledge that would be a pretty good guess. there are quite a few elk that doo run there by hanford. i have also heard and i do not know if this is true but the Washington state record elk was taken near this area. anyone know????

My 10 year old son thinks that is WAY cool, and wants to know just where you “caught” that thing. And your bait secret is…

I do believe the Washington state record was shot near Hanford. I think…they called that bull Brutus? I know they radio some bulls and usually name those bulls. I’ve seen his horns at shows, pretty massive. I know they also had some sheds from a few years back, if I remember right, the estimated weight was 71 pounds for the set. I think Bugle magizine (5+ years ago) had a article about the Hanford herd?

If it was from the Hanford area, just goes to show what a little radioactivity can do for antler growth!

it was about 2 miles above the 300 area on the hanford reach. talked to a guy in sportsmans warehouse about it

That bull was near Hanford reach. I see some comments about Brutus. My father killed Brutus. I now have him Taxidermied and on my wall.
