THe DNR or DOW or Fish and Game or whoever better start getting a clue. As hunter numbers decline they continue to pile on the needless regulations further frustrating folks from enjoying the great outdoors. Soon these kinds of "rights limitations" will take your hunting lands and then your gun and there will be so few of us left that it will happen without incident. I hope I am not around when that happens....either fight it or take it in the behind...one or the other...

This law is stupid. They are not going to stop hard core shed hunters trust me! its just another way for the division to hurrass hunters and generate revunue for the great state of utah. shed hunters don't desturb winter wildlife developers and new roads do. Many people watch deer from spotting scopes hundreds of yards away. If we disturb them they are gone! no sheds.

I personally think this new law is stupid. I talked to a conservation officer in late January about it, and he too thought it was stupid. He told me that to enforce the new law, an officer would have to catch a person coming off the mountain with the antlers in hand. He also predicted that most of the avid horn hunters in Northern Utah would simply round up as many sheds as possible and stash them for the May 1st opener. I have since found out that more than a few people that I know have already done this! I just don't understand the point to this new law. If they want to increase the deer numbers, they need to enforce a law that restricts all actvities in winter ranges. If guys want to get those horns, all they have to say is that they are "just hiking". Who is gonna know?
