I am tring to decide on weather to get a SX3 or A Beretta Extrema 2. I have seen both on utube. The Extrema 2 seems to be more rugged than the SX3, but the SX3 is lighter. I have been a winchester fan all my life and know they have quality products, but after reading the comments of jamming in cold weather, I have doughts now. Can someone help me out with my decision.

I personally dont see the need for shooting three shells( in most areas thats all your allowed to hold in any shotgun) that fast. I see how Winchester stands to make a large ammount of money off of ammo though!! I have an Ithica semi auto 10 guage for duck hunting and a Mossberg pump 12 guage for everything else. I got my Mossberg for christmas when I was 11 years old. My dad paid $129 for it brand new. I turned 31 April 7th 2009. It has been in the shop one time in twenty years. The SX3 is no doubt an impressive firearm, but i just dont see it as a practical firearm for hunting use.

Magazine Extension: many (okay, two) have asked about magazine extensions. Patrick Flanigan sells them on his website patrickflanigan.com . They are suppposed to fit all SX2s and SX3s as well as the Browning Gold and Silver.

My SX3, or at least the barrel, is made by FN Herstal of Belgium. A check of their website reveals that they own Browning, which sells guns under both the Winchester and Browning names. So I'm guessing the Browning and Winchesters are pretty much the same gun under the hood.

I bought a new sx3 3 1/2 " in Oct. 07. I hunted pheasant in South Dakota shooting federal 2 3/4" magnums and had no problems. When our duck season began in Nov I started shooting Winchester Supreme 3 1/2. I had considerable problems with jamming. Finally the gun shop where I bought it replace the entire trigger assembly. It worked well for the balance of duck season. I recently tried to shoot some target loads and experienced additional problems. I would be interested in anyone elses input on this matter. I love the weight and how the gun mounts.

Ive been looking at these for a while now, I was hoping an extended magazine SX3 would make its way into the gun shops, Is this something that we're going to have to modify oursevles or is it on the way? Thanks,
