2007 Utah Sportsman Elk Tag is Down

03 Sep

I just heard that the Utah Sportsman Elk Tag holder ended up putting a short season on his special permit and took a bull on Saturday (Opening morning). I believe the tag holder was a 15 year old. He ended up taking a 360-class bull. Not quite the 400-inch bull everyone wants or thinks they will get with this type of tag, but a great bull nonetheless. This tag allows you to hunt statewide from September 1 through December 31st. The elk was taken off of the Pahvant. A lot of people right now on the Pahvant looking for big bulls.

UPDATE: Here is a photo of the Sportsman Elk Tag. The bull is bigger than I had posted originally. This beautiful bull has been rough scored around 375 gross B&C and has a tremendous 24-inch third point on the left side.

15 years old . Wow …with this experience who knows what he’ll be killin when he gets older. We should train all of our youths to shoot like this and send them on to Iraq

That is an exceptional bull! I wish I could see more views of the rack. Does anyone know if this was this a raffle tag or an auction tag?
