Have seen two in Kansas. One near Scott Lake and one along a hedgrow near Geneseo. They are elusive but if your lucky you just might see one.

I've had two run in;s with a large cat in the topeka city limits my first was at lake shawnee back in the early 90's when this large cat that stood taller then the hood of my car crossed my path , I was in shock i just sat their in my car with my foot on the brake for a few minutes and watched it calmly walk into the woods their where it is now houses on the south west side of the lake.
My socond incounter was in 2001 south east side of 29th accross from where k - mart use to be along the creek going south me and my husband at the time it was late at night and we had planned to sleep in the woods that night something new for us to do so we picked a spot where a tree had fell and was laying up against another tree so we got up under the falling tree to sleep well as we did that we heard something hudge come down the tree and it was making the big cat noise and we got up from under their and we could still hear this cat and we can hear it runing in circles around us but it was to dark to see it so we ran the hell out of their , And we believed that we where almost a big cat's food for the night . No one will ever get me back in their ever again.

Yes, for a fact, # 1, 15 years ago my grandma, aunt, Case Walker, Ryan Walker and I where walking on our hill and we watched one for 15-20 minutes seting on the side of a hill when it stood up streched out and walk away. # 2 1995 My best friend TC and I where out driving looking around when a young one ran across road in front of us. #3 found doe kill, cat sign all over, was a big doe covered up with large brush. No Bobcat did this. #4 found track and had a man that goes to CO, NM, and AZ hunting them all the time. He said it was for sure a Mountain lion track. #5 My neighbor and i where in the hay field when on came out and then ran back in to the brush. That neighbor said he had seen one 11 times. Have had many friends, neighbors and hunters say they have seen one with in a mile of our farm. One hunter said it came out and played in the field like a little citten. All the ones I have seen have all had long tails with a black tip. And all of them where huge except for the baby and it was about the size of a large bobcat but had a 4 foot or so long tail. We live in the Cedar Vale Ks area.
