More big bulls are getting spotted. This footage and photos were sent in by Harmon Silloway. He got a close look at this monster elk. Harmon says it is a 7×11 point non-typical bull.
What do you think it scores? Very tough to tell from the photos and video…

This bull is a herd bull that is a result of transplanted elk to the east to help build up the herd years ago and therefore has a radio collar on its neck as wildlife authorities keep a close eye on the herd. Don’t let that make you think that it is a high fenced bull. This is a fair chase bull that a lucky hunter could very well get this year through their lottery draw.
Short video clip of this bull live

he’s about 373 3/8 net
489 non-typical
473 5/8 gross non-typical
450 non-tipical
428 non tipical
428 gross non-typical
this bull will score about 423 non typical
440 6/8 non-typical Give or take 20 pts
wow are you kidding me that elk is nowhere close to 489 473 or 450. 410 tops
I am going to have to say 424 – 425 tops.
Gross score 382 4/8 Non Typical
ya hes really not that impressive, im sayin bout 390 non-typical (you guys dont look very educated with scoring when you dont know how to spell typical)
after the video i’m saying even lower. 395 tops. no way that elk is over 400 net.
That elk is 400 gross. His left side looks normal and nothing to get all excited about and his right side looks impressive but missing beam points and short abnormal points dont add up anywhere close to 489, 450 or 420, ill guarantee you that. i will say this, if those high estimates were a panel of scorers, we would have an unbelievable record book.
this bull would probably go about 430-435 gross
gross score 373 7/8 nontypical what an animal!
This bull I believe will score about 443 2/8 inches. They don’t come much better then this one. What a great picture.
405
i think this bull will score 480 to 485 nontypical
439 this bull will score non typical
the bull is about 490-496 non-typical. around there somewhere
that bull is 400 at least
I believe I’ve seen this bull…good luck though, you’ll need to draw a tag first, then head east to Pa.
That is a 436 bull!
thats a really good bull im gonna say about 415-430
That is bull no. 36 with the collar He stays in Benezette most of the time and only comes on Winslow Hill during the rut. He will not run from a human and is totally acclimated to humans. He is now an old bull and going down hill. He reached his peak in the early 2000s.
Most if not all guides will not consider putting him in a hunter’s sights. On the clip I hear “I think I could even get one in him from here”, well that may be true and if not the hunter could get as close as needed.
If fair chase means not behind a fence that is one thing, if it means a challenging hunt that is another entirely and taking this bull would not be meet that criteria.
Most of the truly large bulls that formerly visited the viewing areas on Winslow Hill have been taken. It takes about seven years to reach maturity and even with the moderate number of bull tags issued each year, few are now reaching that stage. As soon as a bull becomes a contender he is targeted and taken.
The key for survival is for a bull to not leave the no hunt zone and there are always plenty of rumors about them being driven from it.
A great bull but under 400 non-typical for sure, typical left antler with way too short of points all around on right antler.
i dont think he’ll make 400 hundred to many deducts 360 to 370
We raise elk and just sold a bull that scored 410 so this bull is atleast 425 to 435 easily.
