I am planning to hunt Elk 11/3-11/9 season in the Rifle/Craig area.
This will be my first time hunting in Colorado could anyone give me info on specific areas to locate decent bull. Any good advice will be appreciated.
Thanks,
CJ

I'd try:
Dale & Kathy Purcell
6256 Cedar Road
Pueblo, Colorado 81004
Phone 719-485-1878
FAX 719-485-1878

Great people, I hunted with Dale in 2004 and I believe this was the area of the Uncompagre Plateau you're interested in...

I have a landowner tag for the 521 unit during the rifle hunt around the 20th of October. I am replacing someone else who couldn't make it on this hunt. This is short notice for me and I have never been to the area. I'm just searching for any info I can about what terrain to expect, where the pressure usually comes from with other hunters, and generally where you'd recommend hunting. I am very willing to go high or far, hiking all day if that's what it takes. Any help would be appreciated.
