Amen to what David King and Todd Houghton have to say about comment #4(tom kroll). I am personally a good friend of Rand and have enjoyed hunting with him. He told me drawing the tag was a 1 in 6900 something chance. He is not "some rich hunter", but a good ole' country boy who actually deserves a chance at a buck of a lifetime. This hunt was not what tom kroll made it out to be, but a great hunt involving friends and family support. The buck was not run to death. I say congrats to Rand for an awesome buck. Oh, and by the way, he has Cooper Discover STs on his truck.

I have to agree with Tom . This isn't a very ethical hunt and sure was not earned. What has happened to the days of out smarting an animal and actually earning the right to take the life of an animal that was put here as a gift from the Almighty. Leave you cell phones , your high price camo, and your high price rifle at home and actually try hunting like a real man with out the aid of "buddies" and high tech gadgets. What did those steaks taste like from your deer Rand, they would taste alot better if they where earned. Happy Hunting

Tom #4,

Why so bitter.... Do you want a gun dipped in camo? You cant buy a hunting bow anymore unless some camo company has gotten there hands on it. If you prefer to use a leaf off the tree and a couple of rattle cans to "bling up your stuff", so be it! Some of us want professoinal patterns. And running deer around on horses.... come on. Lets give someone the benefit of the doubt. I don't care if it was Billy the Kid riding Seabiscuit... good luck catching a mule deer in open country. I thank the companys that promote and help our sport grow... I love new products... I love Camo... and thanks for advertising here or we would never find it.

I just don't get it. Why is it every time there's a post about someone bagging an awesome trophy someone has to cry fowl play. It's always something... high fence, high priced, private ranch, army of guides, etc. Of course the guy that scores the choice tag and can afford a really good guide like Doyle Moss and others, or can afford to pay the fee at a private ranch has a huge advantage but why does that make it somehow wrong or any less of an achivement. There are many filthy stinking rich hunters out there. Do you see them with a state record every year? NO, it takes more than money. If it's not tame or tied to a tree then it's as good a kill as any other. I have a feeling that those who bitch and moan about the success of others are only limiting thier own success. It's called Karma. Be ready for it.

DAVE,
COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!
I WILL SAY, THAT GROWING UP IN MONTANA,HUNTING
MY ENTIRE LIFE, ANYONE WHO STALKS AN ANIMAL
FOR MILES, ONLY TO GLASS WHATEVER IT MAY BE
GOING OVER THE TOP OF A RIDGE, THREE RIDGES AWAY,
IS NOT BEING HONEST, WHEN THEY HAVE SAID TO THEMSELVES, "SURE WISH I HAD A HORSE". NOT ONLY
TO KEEP UP, BUT TO PACK OUT IF YOU'RE LUCKY
CONGRATS, RAND.
