Info on 204 Typical Archery Mule Deer?

April 10th, 2008 David King - King's Outdoor World

I was looking through my recent issue of the Pope & Young Newsletter (Spring 2008) and, like usual, checking out the recent listings of archery bucks and bulls. To my surprise there was a huge typical mule deer in the velvet category taken in Utah in 2007. It was taken by Patrick Grieco and the buck scores 204 6/8 P&Y.

Hello! If that is correct, we are looking at the second largest velvet typical mule deer in the world. Anybody out there have any information on this buck or the hunter?

I am a very young hunter but me too have read that and I think it is true. I have heard of many 200 class typical mule deer and it is possible to shoot that calibur of this deer. I am from Saskatchewan, Canada so this province pruduces many huge deer, White tail and Mule deer.

I have never shot a huge buck but I am hoping some day, I will shoot a buck like that.

Yey, I was calling for Pat and the bad news is he hit the little one as the real monster buck walked right by. Nice deer though even if it was the little one
