Record Whitetail Buck Stolen - Need Your Help
May 6th, 2008 David King - King's Outdoor World

Brian Andrews, left, and his dad, Randy Andrews, with the 26-point mounted whitetail deer
This record whitetail buck taken by Brian Andews in 2003 has recently been stolen. This amazing deer was taken in Buchanan County, Iowa and scored 253 1/8 net B&C. It is the non-typical state record with a bow and was the second largest bow kill that year. Sometime between 8-10 p.m. on June 18, 2004, Andrews’ mounted whitetail buck was stolen from his family’s home.
Big Reward
The Andrews family and the Buchanan County Wildlife Association Inc. have offered a $5,000 cash reward for any information that will lead to the missing mount. Unfortunately that has not been enough as no information has come forward. Bass Pro has decided it wants to help and add to that reward.
Bass Pro Shops recently announced that it is offering a $5,000 gift card to anyone with information leading to the return of Andrews’ buck and the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who stole it.
Anyone with information about Andrews’ buck is asked to contact the Buchanan County Sheriffs Department in Independence, Iowa, at 319-334-2567.

I sure hope Brian’s buck is located and returned. It’s a shame that someone would take something as special as this buck is to him. There are some really sad people in this world!

I think it is sad that a person could spend so many hours in a cold stand to have a magnificent animal that was harvested legally stolen. The person/persons who stole this wonderful animal should spend alot of time in jail. As stated above any harvest is priceless.

It is a shame that someone would do something so damaging. Looking at the picture of Brian and his dad reminds me of several trophy bucks that I downed while enjoying the moment with my father. While they still have the memories of that day, it is pitiful that
they have to look at an empty hole on their wall. best of luck in the recovery of your deer.

Some people are unreal. Deer/Elk thieves are on the rise. A Deer mount was stolen from a hunting expo not too long ago in SLC. I am glad that Bass Pro is stepping up and offering a reward. Hope it gets found.
