Lewton has been caught in the act recently by FWP, by an undercover operation that resulted in him guiding an officer into the Breaks and a resulting illegal harvest of yet another massive ram. Unfortunate MT FWP thought it necessary to actually have to kill a trophy ram to pin this outlaw down for good.

Maybe. I just helped a buddy in Nevada for his Desert Bighorn, and I wasn't sweaty or dirty. Very tough hunt, but we were successful. It's all on how you hunt. Congrats to the hunter and guide. (hopefully he his a true sportsman)

Before you guys congratulate the men too much, realize that John Lewton is under investigation for several illegal activities surrounding the taking of a previous bighorn ram in the same area of the Missouri River breaks a year prior. a beautiful trophy is great for all of us to look at, but when the methods of take involve trespassing, illegal guiding, airplane surveillance, and several other questionable acts, perhaps a pat on the back is not deserved. This ram may have not been taken in that fasion, but considering they don't even look sweaty i highly doubt they hiked 10 miles in 90 degree weather to get that hog.

That is a great ram indeed. Being a native from MT, I can only commend and congradulate you for that great trophy. But honestly, hunting Bighorn Sheep isn't a walk in the park. I would not be surprised if someone shot a Ram that dworfed that one. I was in an area just out of Cody, WY, and there were 30 head of all Bighorn Rams. There were some that wouldn't surprise me if they tied or out scored this Ram.
